About Us
Founder
The Vijay Vidya Nursery & Primary School was a result of the realization of the vision of our founder S Muthuvelu. He was a great visionary, philanthropist, and established for the betterment of the education for the children of all kind in the locality.
The beginning was very humble 50 years back, with just two teachers and three children! Over the years the school has grown with his focused attention and wife M Vijaya Lakshmi dedicated efforts. Vijay Vidya functions under the auspicious of Vijay Vidya Trust. School has contributed largely to the development of children’s education in the locality.
Located in Ramakrishna Nagar, between Raja Annamalai Puram and Mandaveli, is one of the prominent locations in Chennai. Vijay Vidya Nursery and Primary School affiliated to the Board of Matriculation schools was started in the year 1971 with a view to cater to the educational needs of children. The school runs classes from Pre KG LKG to class V.
The medium of instruction is English and the other languages taught are Tamil and Hindi.

The meaning of the school emblem is very significant. The meaning of the words “Knowledge is power” means that true power comes from knowledge. No individual or nation can prosper in life without knowledge.
The words ” knowledge is power” inspires students to pursue education, as education alone has the power to bring to the forefront their hidden potential so as to leave their indelible mark in society.
Management
The school functions under the auspicious of Vijay Vidya Trust, a registered charitable and a non-profitable organization established for the cause of Education. Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Muthuvelu is the Funder Trustee and has seven trustees to the Board.

The school year is divided into three terms with a break at the end of each term. The School will function from Monday to Friday exclusive of other government holiday. All second and fourth Saturday’s will be half working day.
